Baldwin V of Jerusalem was the son of Sibylla of Jerusalem and William of Montferrat, Count of Jaffa and Ascalon. He was crowned as co-king during the reign of his uncle Baldwin IV of Jerusalem but was only 5 years old at the time. After Baldwin IV died in 1185, Baldwin V ruled for only a year before he died, although he ruled in name only since he was only a little boy. His mother Sibylla and his step-father Guy of Lusignan were crowned after his death.
